This fly is described as a general attractor pattern, making it useful when fish are keyed in on small aquatic insects but a more noticeable presentation is needed. It is offered in sizes #12, #18, and #20, giving you options for different water conditions and hatch matching. The Gold version adds a bright profile that can help the fly stand out in faster water or lower visibility. SKU BHLBG12-3 identifies this specific Stone Creek, Ltd listing.
- Attractor-style subsurface fly for caddis, mayfly nymph, and midge situations.
- Available in three sizes: #12, #18, and #20.
- Gold coloration creates a brighter profile for added visibility in the water.
- Compact pattern choice for anglers who want one fly to cover multiple common insect types.
BH Lightning Bug - Gold is a straightforward addition to a trout fly box when you want a pattern that can suggest several small food sources without matching only one. Its attractor character makes it useful for prospecting runs, pockets, and seams where fish may respond to flash and profile as much as exact imitation.
With sizes ranging from #12 to #20, the pattern can be selected for bigger water, finer presentations, or situations that call for a smaller silhouette. The gold finish helps the fly remain visible in varied light and water conditions, which can matter when fishing nymphing rigs or working active water where quick recognition is helpful.
